Also, on this topic, my boyfriend was complaining to me that the new WiFI card I gave him to replace a broken wasn't working since he could access the internet, but couldn't access our shared network drives. When I took a look, he had been connected to a neighbor's network, not ours.

WiFi, while simple to us tech-heads, is very confusing to the average person. They see the pop-ups that say "A wireless connection is available" and they have no concept of that one is the one they are supposed to use. Start to add VPN and anonymizers and you've totally lost them.
