The MFU price was by all accounts too low. As a silver card holder, you were generating as many miles from the base fare as you were redeeming, which I'm sure was never the intention as it starts to take on the unlimited free upgrade feel of many US airlines' FFPs.

The 48,000 rate is I assume for a peak travel day. It should be lower for off peak.
