There are lots of great wineries in the Pfalz.

Anselmann www.weingut-anselmann.de makes fabulous Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc. We also toured Schloss Wachenheim, which makes good sparkeling wine. https://www.schloss-wachenheim.de/cm...oben-1001.html

I would recommend to pretty much follow the Weinstraße (wine road) which takes you past most of the wineries.

Speyer with its 1000 year old cathedral is definitely also worth a visit. It is only about 20 minutes away from the wine road. http://www.speyer.de/sv_speyer/en/Tourism/
