So you are good to apply for the AA Platinum MC right now, as you have never had the product and you will be elegible for the 50 K Miles bonus too. I was able to open a second AA Platinum MC with 50 K bonus after Citi converted my AA Platinum MC from World to World Elite in early 2015. Then they sent me the second one as just a World. So you are good to go, but will not have much time before they turn that Visa into MC.

Another related question: Is the Gold MC considered a different product than the Platinum MC? I ask this b/c one member of our churn team cancelled their Gold MC about 6 months ago, but has also never had the Platinum MC. Would he be good to go on the Plat app?
