The IB+ systemis just not good for redemptions on parterns and, yes, the webpage is glitchy and often does not show all the available flights.
OK, so I see the SYR-PHL flight too, which means that one-way partner awards *are* available - the one way and round trip flights are priced the same because one way and roundtrip itineraries are both 1-600 miles in total. Anyway, this makes it even stranger that BA can find this flight from JFK-BCN on April 6 but Iberia can't:
I called Iberia and they also can't see it unless they search for a round-trip. Even though the one-way would require more Avios on Iberia (23,000 on Iberia vs 20,000 on BA), the fuel surcharges are way less.
Do you have any recommendations as to how to get IB to see the one-way award availability?
Edit: What if I book a roundtrip with the JFK-BCN AA flight and an IB return flight and cancel the return flight?
Edit2: Or could I just book the AA roundtrip JFK-BCN-JFK and cancel the return trip within 24 hours under the U.S. 24 hour change/cancel policy? These seem like ridiculous ways to book an award ticket, but unless Iberia fixes its systems, I don't see another way.
