Absolutely- there have been many transatlantic flights with long delays or out right cancelled at least over the last week when I started looking at this. I am particularly paying attention to Tel Aviv because Im going next month. United(Continental) used to get these flights out at all cost. For example during snow storms many domestic flights would be cancelled but the transatlantic flights would only be effected in the worst storms. Very glad I decided to fly Swiss next month. I will probably get there quicker through Zurich then nonstop on United. Although at this point I should just put all my eggs in Delta's basket they are much more reliable. Not sure why the mechanics "slowdown" is not a bigger deal on FT.
