Question on CX upgrades:

Prospective flight: JFK-SYD via HKG. Want to upgrade from Premium Economy to Business. Total distance flown is 12.6k miles each way, award zone F. The amount of miles required for this upgrade (round trip) would be 55k? I ask to make sure that the layover in Hong Kong doesn't change anything (such as making me book two separate RT upgrade awards for JFK-HKG and HKG-SYD).
