LTN is not my most used airport, but do use it several times a year. A reasonable assessment by stut I think.
The more irritating aspects of LTN for me are around its "chiselling" nature (drop-off fee, paying for trollies, paying for plastic bags for liquids - £1 for 2...), even if I can avoid most of them. Had to give some poor soul at security a spare liquids bag recently to save him from being packed off to buy some. All that said it is otherwise not a bad experience, don't even find the gate race such a big deal, there are plenty of long hikes to gates at LHR, LGW and STN. It also shows me I can live without lounges on SH flights, a reasonably priced breakfast from Pret lasts me through a 2 hour morning flight on U2 (even if you sometimes have to fight through the scrum of people waiting in front of the screens for the gate race in order to get to Pret).
Security isn't usually too bad, and my new U2+ card will get me priority security from later in the year. Arrivals usually ok, though will be glad when the eGates are back. Was slightly nonplussed by the new (temporary?) exit point when first encountering it recently, though not a big deal.
LTN is relatively convenient for me, but even without that I would take it over STN and for me it's on a par with LGW N. Still prefer the airport experience most times at LCY or LHR, but quite happy to fly through LTN.
