Actually even if you choose row 1 you are pretty far from the lavs and galley. The lavs/galley are on the other side of doors 1L/R. The lavs are on the left and the galley is on the right. They use proper curtains on NH so the traffic and light is quite minimal. Regardless of seat you will enjoy the NH experience which is significantly better than what you will experience flying a domestic US carrier transpacific.
