I did travel with my wife and 4-year old grandson last year, and the three seats were good (grandson in middle seat). After the flight, I selfishly thought that it would have been best to get my wife and grandson in a window/aisle and me on the other aisle seat in the block of three seats.
We always had our daughter (now 5) in the middle seat until the last few months and now she doesn't want to be stuck in the middle and wants a window seat so we do the same window/aisle & aisle (A B E)
