You may well be right – and if it'll give you peace of mind you should definitely book in advance. However (and maybe I've never been to a 'good' restaurant in Rome) – in all the time I lived there, and on the 50 or so occasions I've visited since, I've never
not been able to get a table for two at relatively short notice.
