I am extremely interested in cell phones. Guess I am a techno-phobe, or some such. My solution, in my not-so-often trips to Europe, is to simply buy a prepaid card and have it installed in the cell phone in whatever country I am in.
Bought an Ericsson when in Finland last April, had a pre-paid chip installed, and used it while there. Took it to France with me last month, and bought another pre-paid chip. Will do the same thing in England next month, unless someone tells me my method is too expensive and I can do it some other way for less. Verizon (my present carrier) has a Samsung tri-mode phone...anyone had experience with it? I am currently tempted to try Nextel, which I am told will work around the world. Anyone know if this is true? My present phone, Kyocera, is both a phone and a palm pilot...it would be the greatest..except that my old eyes can't see the display very well in low light.
