I did the voicestream-sprint swap myself. You won't regret it.
I started with the ericsson...but it died, just up and died, a month later. I moved up to the p280 and adore it. You will, too.

And double check the international plan---I think you can still opt for the old one, which has different rates for each city and carrier. I've found most to be less expensive than the new 99 cent plan.
