LHR layover with handicapped PAX
Seeking a little help from my FT friends who I have learned so much from. Next month my wife is flying through Heathrow with a couple of girlfriends with just under a 10 hour layover. One friend is confined to wheelchair and they are are helping her fulfill her dream of going on safari. They want to leave carry ons and spend a little time sightseeing in London.
Wife is Oneworld Sapphire flying in F. Girlfriends are flying Y on same flight from DFW connecting to JNB. Assuming in and out of term 5. Looking for advice on where/how to leave carry ons. I believe ordinarily you would have to go back through security to check carry ons in/near lounge. Not ideal with wheelchair. Not sure if there is a left luggage outside of security or if wife can make it back through security with all carry ons to check in/near lounge while the others wait.
Afterwards her plan is to take the Heathrow express and then do a black cab tour.
Also after coming back to airport between wife's status and (her) flight class would they all be able to shower since they are between two overnight flights where they hit the ground running in South Africa.
Appreciate any advice on logistics and even London tour advice.
