Based on some things I read on the myFico forums and my personal experience, I think Capital One is looking for low-ish credit scores and hoping those customers will end up carrying a balance and being profitable customers. My credit score right now is around 700 (recovering from a big batch of applications over the last 6 weeks or so, was around 750 before that on all 3 bureaus) with the last application being for the Venture Card. They approved me instantly with my highest credit limit to date....Now I'm just waiting for the card to come in the mail! (I do have a checking account with them but it's never had more than a few hundred dollars in it so I doubt that's a factor. I just like their mobile check deposit, which my primary bank does not offer.)

So, anyone looking for a fixed value travel rewards card who is afraid they wouldn't qualify for the Arrival+ (I don't think I would right now, they keep telling me I have sufficient credit with Barclay's) - give the Venture a try, you might be surprised!
