I'd appreciate your suggestions.

This is the first time we would be flying ANA. Two of us, husband and wife flying together. Booked NH11 using a UA award ticket and UA's system automatically assigned the two of us to 2A and 2D when it ticketed. After getting the ANA confirmation record, I checked on ANA's site and it does not allow an option for one to choose different seats online. So I figured I would have to try and call ANA for different seat assignments but didn't jump at it soon enough. As since that realization, another pax has just been assigned 2G. (Btw, really, the whole whole rest of the F cabin is open, and a single traveler chooses 2G next to an occupied 2D, who does that?!! - if you want 2A that much, ask, happy to oblige)

Currently its just 1D/1G as available connecting seats, but I really didn't want to be closer to the lavs and galley because of a preference for less traffic, noise and light. My wife minds those things less than I. I don't know the in-flight experience of that arrangement to know it that is realistic or not, and I'm thinking of just staying put.

I'm perfectly fine closing the divider between the seats and hoping 2G isn't unpleasant, or do you recommend I try to get ANA to assign us to 1D/1G?


On a side note, is 1A typically blocked? Or can one call in and have it assigned, if so, does the assignment stick or is it like CX/SQ and others with bassinets, premium blocks, you may get an automatic displacement to another seat?
