I lived at Raleigh area for few years back in ‘90s right around the time when AA announced closure of RDU hub. I cannot recall if the flight was RDU-LHR or RDU-LGW back then, but 3-class 767-200 aircraft used for this flight rotated ORD-RDU-LON, where ORD-RDU portion was different flight number sold as 2 class service, business class seats sold as Y.

I vaguely remember this flight was once operated as DFW-RDU-LGW under same flight number by 3-class 767-200 from DFW. Can anybody confirm this?

On a business trip once I upgraded RDU-ORD flight and that was my first ever experience on international first class sleeper seat.
