There are at least 6 hotels in Georgian houses in that street, they used to be quite cheap but appear to have had a bit of money spent on them since I last booked one. The prices showing for me on the Google Maps are higher than the prices on the individual hotels' websites, click through to them and have a look.
Crescent Hotel seems to be the cheapest one
http://www.crescenthoteloflondon.com...ervations=true it's £64 for a single incl tax and a full English breakfast. That's about within your 120-130 CAD budget and you would not have to get a taxi to the station.
I've stayed at the Crescent and the Euro in Cartwright Gardens and can report they both provide fine accommodations and full English breakfast. When The Euro had no air conditioning when I last stayed there in 2004, and quite likely still doesn't. I don't think the Crescent does either, nor most inexpensive London hotels, so you should keep this in mind if you're traveling when the weather's likely to be hot.
It's about a ten minutes' walk from any of the Cartwright Gardens hotels to St. Pancras station.
