I just finished flight UA 1942 from San Francisco to San Diego today. No full beverage service was offered in economy. Only water. The flight attendants explained that as of June 1, United was experimenting with eliminating the full beverage service on intra California flights due to complaints about carts blocking the aisle.

Did I miss this memo?? I was hoping to order a beer but I was told only options are now orange juice or water on this route. Seems non competive with what both Southwest and Virgin offer on this route.
