Thanks for all the replies! They tried Delta Assist from Quito and they couldn't help. I called Delta from here in ATL and a very nice CS person listened to what was up, checked with a supervisor and managed to get them on a flight tonight arriving her in ATL with out penalties. I did have to pay 10K miles but it was worth it. I paid to get them up in EC and they have a row to themselves.
