Looking at the past route history, EK242 comes in over Iran and over Sharjah and does a u-turn SE of the airport to land in a NW direction. Unfortunately it seems unlikely you're going to get a descending close-up view of the "main drag" - buildings on Sheikh Zayed Road - as you approach, but you might get one in the distance if you sit on the left hand side. YMMV depending on your seat of course. You will probably get a better view on the on-board external cameras
