I've been doing a little bit of planning for next year to burn some Avios. Having read in the past that ex-GIG bookings don't pay large fees, I wanted to take full advantage by booking a reward flight trip GIG-LHR and then on to SYD. The idea was that I'd put in a large stopover and fill in the gaps at a later date (i.e., the VIE-GIG and SYD-VIE sections - to make 2 holidays and include more destinations).

When I did the search the price was very appealing, particularly in economy.



The trouble is that when I proceed to the next page it shows a different price. When I click on the charges, this displays:



Is the higher price correct, or is it just another IT glitch? I thought the YQ charges should be excluded. Can anybody shed some light on this please?
