No it isn't - to start with there is the miles being used. The miles requirement for a business class ticket cannot be ignored and has a value in itself

Since it is only BA that has the surcharges, the reasonable comparison is between different airlines in business class and the difference is that BA is $800 more than AA or AB and nearly $800 more than IB

There is not, in my view, any justification for carrier surcharges and I cannot see validity in a claim of something for nothing - but more a case of The same thing for a much higher cost
