EDIT: The itinerary on that trip was ex-DUB, not LON so maybe that was an issue?
If neither you nor anyone else knows why you got the X, it's just a guessing game on what, if anything, you can do to prevent getting an X next time.

There is a list that was put together on some of the most frequent reasons people end up with an X when using APC kiosks; that could -- if someone here has current access to the list -- provide some guidance on what to try to do and/or not do.
