Himeiji Castle just finished their refurbishment and the scaffolding is down. Go early in the morning though as by lunch time, the crowds are so thick in the castle that you literally have no personal space. We arrived by 10:00 am, had we arrived by 9:00 am it would have been much better. Allocate about 2-3 hours to look around and go through the castle. There is a lot of climbing. Worth the visit.
