OT: London to Cape Town in 1934

Picked up the book below the other day, which is a reprint of the original. Fascinating little tome. Taking a current day BA route, then flown by a long lost relation, Imperial Airways, of London to Cape Town...

Weekly service, depart on a Wednesday arrive on the Friday of the following week! Stops at Paris, Brindisi, Athens, Alexandria, Cairo, Wada Hafa, Khartoum, Juba, Entebbe, Nairobi, Dodoma, Mbeya, Broken Hill, Salisbury, Bulawayo, Jo-burg, Kimberley and Cape Town. £130 single. That's circa £8300 today. Oh how I would love to have done it.

At the other end of the scale, Portsmouth to Southampton with Provincial Airways, £10 single!
