If anyone else is curious about this, my experience was that they had quite a selection of both compact and mid-size, and there seemed to be a roughly 50/50 mix of 4WD/AWD vs 2WD models (at least that I could readily identify). In the midsize SUV aisle was a bunch of Hyundai Santa Fes, a few Dodge Journeys (ugh), a Jeep Grand Cherokee (2WD only, unfortunately), and 4WD Ford Explorer Limited, which we gratefully took. Not a bad vehicle for 2 weeks of driving around the west. We also tested its 4WD abilities to the max, on some unusually muddy Utah backways.
