Interesting timing for this thread; I just returned from the maiden voyage with a new laptop bag: a Briggs & Riley #BRW14. It is wonderful! My laptop is very small and thin and most cases are overkill in length and width. Although the actual laptop compartment is still too wide, the construction of the bag allows the extra width to be used instead of just extra wasted space. The other two compartments have lots of pockets alowing the user room for notebook/books/files, etc. and the normal laptop accessories. Plus, it comes with a cell phone case, which fits my little Nokia, shoulder strap, ID case, and lock. It is sturdy, lightweight, has a sloping front, and fits nicely under the seat in front of you or in the overhead compartment. At $249, it is more than a Costco bag, but it is so cool AND matches my 21" B & R expandable. I was able to pack my little Coach bag inside, and had room for a binder and files and a small bottle of water. Oh, and the wheels on the case go round and round!
Edited to add a prepositional phrase
