This is a complete deja vu of when we were stuck in Paris Airport on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day 2013. On Christmas Eve, the plane went mechanical during taxiing and we went back to the gate, with the flight eventually cancelled when the crew timed out. The flight is rescheduled for the next day at 10am, but they posted hourly delay until 4pm, when the crew timed out again. That's when they decided to bring a plane in from IAD to take us back to EWR. By then, we could not book on another carrier/flight, since the flight was not cancelled during the rolling delays.
The kicker: since our original crew was sCO and the new plane was sUA, six of them deadheaded in GlobalFirst, creating the true employee class since no paid passengers was sitting in GF.
