They're seen as a bit small last I heard. Not a ton of capacity for the range.

The phrase you're looking for is "type rating" and the neo doesn't really exist yet so it is not something which a pilot can be licensed for yet. But the plan is to have the neo as part of the existing A320 family type rating so pilots will be able to operated the classics and the new ones with the same certificate. There are some nuanced differences, of course, so specific training is also needed, but that is generally a few days of work, not weeks to months of training.

The A330 family is a different type rating from the A320 family. Training conversion from A330 to A350 is a couple weeks and to the A380 is one week AFAIK.

Also, day three of the show just wrapped up here and no LR announcement. Typically such news comes in the first three days so it looks like it is not happening here this year.
