On the other hand they can read/write very well in English, my impression is that in general Chinese find it easier to communicate in writing then verbally (I could be wrong on that point, it's just the impression I got from my Chinese friends)...
I found an airline number that is an 888 listed on a page of JFK airlines. I was going to try that to see if I can get a US office. Assuming the number doesn't redirect me to China those employees of the airlines who work here are likely much more fluent in english.
