Agreed. I suspect perhaps timing was the key. My AF posted on 6/2 and My last call was on that day. I had decided to myself that today was the last time I was going to call and ask for points or a waiver.
The actual call today was quite simple and took less than a minute.
From my experience, it is a random number generator when you call each day. So call back several times until you get the offer you want.
