The award is booked using miles/points from which airline? That's who you will need to call. Putting you on the non-stop DOH-JFK would be the obvious solution, if there's space etc.
Yes I've arrived in JNB now and tried to get help through AA but since it was booked in the past days prior to the US/AA merger, AA won't help me
I've called US and they're telling me it's the responsibility of RJ to fix the issue. The logical thing here would be to see if they can just put me on a Qatar flight from Doha to JFK, since they seem to operate more frequently than RJ.
So still not sure what I can do, if anyone can help me I am all ears.
