Just want to report back the process we went through two days ago. We landed at A50 at FRA. We followed the crowd and walked a *long* way -- probably across the whole A terminal, then was guided to go downstairs for "connecting flight". But we were stopped to form a waiting line half way through the stairs. Some people cut the line and the lady in uniform let them pass. It ended up they probably had European passport. We were let in after 10-20 minutes wait to go downstairs. It was the passport control. That place is crowded! There had another one or two entrance(s) leading to this passport control, thus that lady let us wait for "crowd control". Bad design, or they never expected that many people to come in at the same time? -- That was around 8-9pm Monday night.

Anyway, we waited for another long line and passed the passport control. For the flight to MXP, we had to sit on a bus and the ride was *very* long - almost a sightseeing of this whole FRA airport! We made it to hotel after mid-night...

Again, take away message: follow the sign, but be prepared for a long walk and sometimes, long wait.
