my wife and our kids aged 4 and 1.5 yrs old will be traveling next mth on J IAH-LAX-KUL. The connection at LAX is 80min while at HKG is 30min. The ticket is on AA award.

If the inbound AA flight to LAX (eta 820am) is delayed, will CX personnel wait at the gate for them since its quite a walk from T4 to International terminal and have to go thru security? With the kids in tow i doubt my wife can 'run to the gate'. What is the typical allowed window for CX before they close their departure gate i.e. 15min/30min?

Similarly at HKG, the connection is 30min but i presume since both in/outbound are CX flights, they would wait and escort as others have mentioned? If they still miss the flight, will we need to contact AA or CX to put us on the next flight which is 5hrs later at 2030pm?
