Hi everyone!

I wanted to get some advice from people who travel a lot on Cathay Pacific. I want to fly from New York to Hong Kong on Cathay Pacific via business class with a new credit card.

My first question is which credit card would be the best option to build up points for Cathay Pacific? I tried doing some research and I noticed that AA is charging about 240k miles for a round trip. However, on Asia miles it seems that its only 140k for a round trip. Does anyone know what the catch is considering is almost double the cost?

I would really appreciate some advice on this topic because I have spent about 2 hours plus going back and forth trying to figure this whole thing out.
