Why not? - I always have to. And queues for security are awful, so very crowded, rushed atmosphere (always someone on verge of missing flights, and security folk don't care...), frequent bag searches (50% "success" rate over last few trips).
So, on BA you get:
- Almost x2 longer total travel time
- Wonderful LHR transfer experience (not)
- Get to go through security twice!
- The famous BA "dorm" experience! If you like British Public Schools, this is for you!
- Worse seat/bed in business class
- Economy seat from LHR to DUB and v-v.
