AF flies to SFO and LAX, and UA flies from SFO.

Neither of those is an Avios partner however.

Air Tahiti operates LAX-CDG (that's up there with DUB-LAX on Ethiopian) and I believe Air Tahiti may allow you to use AA miles, so perhaps AA is showing availability on that flight.
