You indeed cannot bring the cat along with you in the cabin. JAL only accepts pets as checked baggage or as cargo. Call them to confirm the pet and inquire about charges and procedures. https://www.jal.co.jp/en/inter/service/pet/
You will need to adhere to a pretty strict regimen of regulations and policies regarding importing the cat into Korea or China. Familiarize yourself with the requirements!

The only airlines who will let your cat travel in the cabin on these routes are Korean and Asiana.
