Safety and security in hotels

Biggest concern among women travellers is safety and security. Hotels in North America may have surveillance, security checks and cameras on lobby level. There is absolutely no guestfloor security whatsoever. Security cameras on guestfloors was viewed as an infringement of personal privacy and therefore not installed. I beg to differ. There may be some folks who treasure their privacy. However, there are perhaps even more of us who would rather have guestfloor cameras to watch out for criminals, to keep an eye on us as we run the gauntlet to go back to our rooms in the middle of the night. Here is my suggestion. The hotel chains can designate a floor or two as 'Secured Floors' with added security measures as amenities such as:
1. Keyed elevator and floor access
2. Corridor surveillance cameras
3. Escort/bell service at check-in and re-entry
4. Micro camera on room doors
5. Over-sized in-room safe
6. Room entry records made available
7. Check-up service
8. Valet parking service
What do you ladies think?
