lacanau,

I go on horseback riding trips at least once a year, and have found that I can pack everything I need in one carryon rolling bag and one small carryon duffel bag. This includes my boots, hat and half-chaps. What I do to minimize clothing, is to pack specific clothing for each day and then just 2 or 3 shirts for evenings. Once you've cleaned up from the days activity, you can dress in your 'evenink veer'. This way you don't have to pack something for each day and night, and unless you really have an acitive evening, your shirt will still be relatively clean after only 2-3 hours wearing. I've found this works on ski trips as well. The other option is to each evening wear the next days outfit. Nobody really notices what you're wearing while engaging in intense activity.
Hope this helps.
