If you're going to choose an aisle seat, a center-section aisle makes much more sense than the aisle seats that are adjacent to window seats:
- When the person next to you needs to get out, there's a 100% chance that you'll be stepped over if you're in the 2-seat section. But if you're in the 3-seat section, it's about a 50% chance that you'll be the stepped-overee.
- If there's an empty seat in the cabin, it's far more likely to be the center seat in the 3-section than the window seat.
Agreed and if the center seat is taken it might be two travelling together so they would rather step over somebody they know. That reduces the 50% dramatically.
