One other trick is to have a second wallet with a small amount of money and some old credit cards (expired/canceled). When being held up give the dummy. Thiefs don't stop to check the contents.

Make sure to have the equivilent of $20 - $50 in it to encourage them to take it and run (alot of small bills work best).
