If the window seats were angled towards the windows, and the center seats were angled towards each other, you were on an A330. If the seats faced straight forward, you were on a 767.

There are some threads on the best seats for these birds if you search. Row 1 has a larger cutout for your feet on the 767s, which can be important because the seats are rather coffin like. However, with the galley noise, it might not be the greatest for sleeping. There is no compelling reason to choose a bulkhead row on an A330 in my opinion.

On the 767, seats are staggered. Window seats in the odd numbered rows put the console area between you and the aisle, which can give the seat a more private feel. Window seats in even numbered rows are right up against the aisle, and put the console against the window.
