Yes, you can. As long as there is not a layover (>24 hours) in your itin. I have flown domestic legs followed by overnight layover before international leg. E.g. DEN-SFO-NRT. You get lounge access DEN-SFO. I think that with the pre-merger United it had to be "same day".

We fly out of SLC at 3:15ish, arrive in DEN at 4:30, don't leave Denver until 7:40 and arrive in EWR at 1:15 AM.. Obviously the club won't be open until 4 or 5 AM, but to get in before we fly out at 9:15 would be great. All signs point to us being able to access it. Thanks again!
