LHR-DUB flights leave from T5.
I actually misread the details from the OW timetable - read the arrival terminal not departure terminal - indeed it does go from T5 , so no inter terminal transfer. Even so, an extra 5 hour journey plus extra $200 doesn't make it seem a great option

Heading back to US ( assuming r/t journey ) departing DUB to USA provides Customs and Immigration clearance in Dublin
