Just back from 5 night stay.

I can report that the food offerings in the lounge have improved from krobbins and other previous reports. There are now 2 hot dishes usually fish and a meat. Fish was overcooked and in a heavy tasteless sauce. Didn't try the meat. Also always a hot veggie dish. On 3 nights it was a veggie mix (like a side dish) very tasty. One night plain (good) couscous, one night I think mushrooms. Quiche and pizza still there but I didn't try them. A few cut up sandwiches one night. Always crudite--much appreciated having something healthy.

Approx 7:15PM the attendant put out a few small desserts.

Food and liquor available 5:30PM-7:30PM. Also had (very mediocre) white and red wine which was available 5:30PM - 9:30 PM. I did appreciate that several different aperitif mixes were included with the liquor--this is France, you know. They also had Heineken beer, don't remember when the took that away.

A first for me in ANY lounge: Instead of individual bottles of water kept cool in the refrigerator there was one bulk water cooler with a huge jug of "Blue River" brand water -- much like you would see in a fitness area. Water was warm and NOT-tasty. I guess that's to control costs and dissuade people taking water but it looks very tacky and not very accommodating. Twice when I was there the jug was empty and we had to wait quite a while until someone could bring a replacement on a dolly and install it.

Also had One large bottle of Badoit on the counter during service times. When it needed to be replaced (OFTEN) I generally had to ask the attendant as it didn't seem to be done automatically. Refrigerators contained a variety of soft drinks.

Hotel was crowded with several large groups and I was not given a Platinum upgrade. Was on the 2nd floor facing Haussmann. Very very noisy all night long. I guess we could have closed the window but it was so nice to get fresh air. Room was nicely appointed and included a hot water pot. The mini-bar attendant changed the cups daily (rather than the housekeeper just washing them out). Appreciate that.

Was given 2 coupons at checkin. #1) Coupon says: "Special offer for Marriott Rewards Guests" So I assume all MR guests receive it. 50% off A La Carte food in the restaurant for Dinner(not valid for the formula, special menu or drinks) #2) Coupon says: "Special Offer" so I'm assuming all guests receive this but I am not sure. 30% off at Le bar Lindbergh. Didn't use either of these so I don't know if you can use them multiple times. Although the restaurant gets a positive review from Pudlo (a french food reviewer) I assumed the food in the lounge came from the restaurant kitchen and the lounge food was so mediocre I didn't try the restaurant--even for 50% off.

Choice of breakfast in the restaurant or lounge. I chose restaurant. Good selection but again the quality of food was poor. No Frenchman would eat those croissants or pain au chocolate. Platinums only get the buffet--A La Carte eggs, etc not included.

Internet speed was good. You need to sign in daily.
