When you fly, miles count for redeemable and elite qualifying.... you don't earn double miles, you only earn one set of miles that count for two different things. When you use your credit card, dine out, etc., the miles count for only redeemable miles.

On the section that says you will earn "additional" EQM's, 5/10k of the miles you earned will be credited to the elite qualifying miles. They are not true "additional" miles because they were already counted as redeemable miles.... they are "additional" EQM's because they are only counted against gaining status.

Hopefully that helps!
Thanks. It makes sense, it just seemed a lot clearer when it was USAirways. When you reached the $25K spend threshold, they would just take 10K miles out of the bonus miles column and move them over to the qualifying miles column. Different terminology, same result I guess.
