The cancellation can be done at any time during the year until 30 days before the cancellation date.
"Hiermit kündige ich die Kreditkarte mit der Nummer xxxxx zum Ende des ersten Jahres zum xx.xx.xx"
Insert your credit card number and the last day of the desired validity of your card. Admittedly a bit awkward with the double "zum", but you didn't ask for prize winning poetry.
