Let's say you're 100SP away from a tier upgrade (specifically, G to E).
You book (and travel on) a flight that earns you 250SP.
When you land, you've attained your new tier, but the earning flight has those extra 150SP above what you needed for your tier upgrade. Do those SP vanish? Or are they credited to your yearlong requalification period for that tier?

I went from Jade -> Elite within one year.. this is how it worked for me..
Jade 0 -> 450 SP
Silver 450->900 SP
Gold 900->1500 SP
Elite (I got reset to 0 and I needed (from 0) to get 1314 points to retain Elite..). . This may gave been due to the free Elite Upgrade with Westpac, but I was ~20 SP from being Elite anyway..
SP expire 12 months after applied..so some people could be chasing to get up a Tier if you don't fly enough.
